1. Make sure the Win95 box can ping the NT server. If it can...your in
business.
2. Take a look at the lmhosts.sam file on the win95 machine. This is a
sample file that you can copy from to create the lmhosts file that will
work for you. You define the name of the nt machine, the domain name of
the nt server, the ipaddress. Make sure the you include the #PRE and
#DOM in the line. The sample file is very easy to read.
3. Either reboot your 95 machine, or try a "nbtstat -R" from a dos
prompt. This will reload the routing table for the "windows" side of
the networking.
4. You should not be able to log in.

This is assuming that the linux box is acting just like any other true
router.

Subject: Logon to NT via a Linux based Router. Possible? How? Help!

Is it possible to logon to an NT Server 4.0 via a Linux (RedHat 5.0)
based
router using Win95?

I have setup the Linux box with 2 network cards and manage to start them
up.
Assign them with different IPs on 2 different subnets. I started up IP
Forwarding.

I manage to ping the NT Server from the Win95 PC and vice versa.

This is how it roughly looks like

My Linux box shows the following lines when I do a 'route -n'
