Actually, the way Stallman envisioned this working is that all software/code
is free and exchangable, and developers make their money with support and
consulting.  I don't know if that's in the GPL or not, but I seem to recall
it was in some news article, speech transcript, or even the FSF Manifesto
(it's been a while since I read it, not that it's thrilling reading or
anything).  Hell, Stallman charges a pretty penny for his services, doesn't
he?  

If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
