The CPU in this can only execute 32-bit instructions, making 64-bit
(*.ppc64.rpm) packages rather pointless. You probably only got the package
to install by using --ignorearch to begin with, if it really is a
.ppc64.rpm. "That's what you get for ignoring what rpm wanted to enforce."  
:)

If/when Apple comes out with a system based on the IBM Power970, then you
should be able to use *.ppc64.rpm packages on that.
