And for an extra, extra layer of protection, if you
have the resources available, you should make each
device on your network and "appliance". Meaning only
make each device have one specific task (eg, a
mailserver, a DNS machine, etc) not have 1 machine
doing all of the above. Also running that service in a
chrooted env can also help immensely, just in case.
