I have just used UP2DATE to upgrade many package on red hat 7.1 Amoug which are the kernel and glibc. See the list below for the packages i have upgraded today. There is now a serious sound problem. Direct after reboot, from console, no xwindows started yet. When i do this : play /usr/share/sounds/KDE_Beep_RimShot.wav I get a very distorted sound, or almost no sound at all. It varies. It is the same with other sounds. When i start KDE the same sound problem occurs.. In the /var/log/messages i see nothing different from before. (This error was long before the upgrade and after in the log file. But all sound worked fine then with this error.
