Have no doubt of it. I used to use IBM's Visual Age for C on OS/2. There's
nothing amongst the freeware for Linux that I've seen that is anywhere near it.
Instead of speculating how good Kylix is, sit down and use it for a week. Then
you will have a sound basis for commenting.
Quite apart from the software builders included in VAC, it comes with an
enormous pile of documentation, some (optionally all) in hardcopy, all in
softcopy (three formats - IBM bookmaster, OS/2 Info and postscript). It
includes tutorial and reference documentation for C and C++. And heaps of
sample programs.
The postscript documentation alone is 25 Mbytes compressed,
I imagine the paid-for versions of Kylix are comparable.
