Trond suggested pulling an updated xinetd from rawhide.
That is, do this:
wget -O xinetd-2.1.8.9pre14-5.i386.rpm \
ftp://rawhide.redhat.com/rawhide/i386/RedHat/RPMS/xinetd-2.1.8.9pre14-5.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh xinetd-2.1.8.9pre14-5.i386.rpm
service xinetd restart
(assumes wget is installed -- it is in the beta iamges ...)
