that's why i think both should be included; but only one in the main 
distribution. the other in powertools.

to make redhat apt-enabled and offering apt is something that would benefit 
those who like it and dislike it.

apt is much more than a tool to update the system. it's a tool to install 
packages. with it, people don't have to care about what package provides a 
library, on which cd a package is and many other things that make some people 
think dpkg is better than rpm, when apt is better than what rpm users use to 
install their packages.
