        /dev/cdwriter supposedly points to the approriate
generic scsi device to use a cd burner. Sounds like the
job of a cd burner config tool, if such a beasts exists.

        I assume video1394 is for firewire, but I dont see a
entry for it in devices.txt, so I dont know if it's
an official dev entry. 

        Dumping an entry in /etc/makedev.d/video should
make MAKEDEV create it when ran. btw, if you havent
already, check out the new MAKEDEV, it's cool ;->
