I couldn't get NFS to export a filesystem as a directory of the other
one. If you can figure it out please tell me. :) 

I had compiled the kernel with Sun NFS something or other, and read the
manpage for exports, but it didn't work. :(

I suppose you are using NFS instead of FTP because you don't have enough
RAM? Or is there some other reason?
