Very much, perhaps, but there are differences.
* Helix has more packages than (say) Pinstripe. For example, Helix
includes gnome-pilot, more sawfish themes, etc.
* Helix packages are updated more frequently. If a new release of a
gnome app fixes some problems, you can expect to see a helix package
within a couple days. Most distributions don't release updates that
quickly, and many won't release those updates at all until the next
release of the distribution.
The GNOME packages in Pinstripe are nice, but I've had to do a fair
bit of downloads and rebuilds of packages to get things where I had
them with Helix.
