Dear all,
(Bcc'd to the email addresses in the nvidia spec file)

Installed packages:

rpm-3.0.5-9.6x
NVIDIA_kernel-0.9-4
XFree 4.0 locally built.

Having upgraded to the recently released rpm packages for 6.2, a
kernel upgrade and hence a recompilation of the NVidia 3d-accelerated
X resource manager was necessary.

The RPM appeared to built correctly with rpm-3.0.5-9.6x, and indeed
the kernel module actually installed. However, it failed to add it's
usual line to /proc/devices for registering character device 195 as
nvidia. (and the post install script for the module failed to make
a device node for the module)

I haven't had time yet to work out exactly what is missing / changed /
wrong with the updated rpm or the 0.9-4 nvidia spec file, but
reverting to rpm-3.0.4-0.48 from the original 6.2 release has 'fixed'
the problem, and I have my X desktop back again.

Regards,

Mark
