If you mean genhdlist: 

$REDHATBASE/i386/misc/src/anaconda/utils/genhdlist <dir> 
updates the $REDHATBASE/i386/Redhat/base/hdlist file from RPMS in the
directory you specify as <dir> 
The hdlist file contains rpm headers for quick access by the installer.
