'startx' runs /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc which in turn runs
/etc/X11/xinit/Xclients which checks /etc/sysconfig/desktop to
determine which window manager to run.

BTW, are you creating your own distribution or something? You seem to
be rebuilding a whole collection of rpms the last few days!
