If you make changes in misc/src/anaconda, you should then have them
copied over to instimage, yes.

Try "make install" from misc/src/anaconda. That should do the trick. In
order to save precious space on the CD, you can issue "make clean" after
the files have been copied to instimage.
I use the following to rebuild pretty much everything (make install is
implied somewhere in one of the targets):
(cd misc/src/trees; make; make do-make; make clean)
(cd misc/src/anaconda; make clean)
misc/src/anaconda/utils/genhdlist .
It works here, but I don't make any guarantees. It's only based on my
experimentation.
