on Rawhide 20000720, XFree86 complained it couldn't find
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy. a link solved the problem (ln -s 
/etc/X11/xserver
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver).

another symbolic link that would be nice is /usr/X11 to /usr/X11R6. some
applications can use X11R5 and so they use X11 instead of X11R6. changing the Makefile
for such applications is good too.
