I'm an absolute newbie in Linux. I tried to install
it on my pc and in a way it works fine. The thing is that I have a program I'm
fond of that only runs under windows.
What happend when i got Linux was that all my
harddrive became Linux native and I don't know how to make my 20 mb fat
partition that for some reason is left bigger f.eks like a giga. I downloaded a
program called fsresize and in the readme file it said that i should write make
logged on as an ordinary user and afterwards write make install logged on
as root. I do this, but very many lines with something that look like
errormessages occur at the first step and at the other step i'm told that it
cannot find the install. So now I wonder: how do I install some
program in Linux with Gnome or KDE? Or: Where shall I stand in the
filesystem when I shall write the commandoes "make" and "make install" and is
there something else I should do first?
Please help me somebody cause my family is
starting to get desperat.
Yours faithfully Ingrid Chatrine
Schrøder.
