Probably not. We don't change current settings, on the premise that
we don't want to disturb any settings that the user changed (i.e,
if the user wants to use de4x5 for his tulip card, we don't want
to change it.) This has the unfortunate side effect of losing in cases
like this.

Not everything is changed to work in concert with devfs. kudzu
will very likely do strange things.  The /etc/securetty thing
should be fixed in the next setup package, although this probably
won't get propagated automatically on upgrades (I'm betting it's
%config(noreplace)...)
