Some versions of reiserfs had a hack for this. Its not a good idea and Im
told its now been removed. If you grab the LFS patches for 2.2 from the
RH 6.2beta kernel rpms you'll be able to build a 64bit ext2/ext3 environment
that is 2.4pre compatible. We dont use the patches in 6.2 beta but they are
in the srpm (they have a small performance hit)
