Riyad,
I had installed KDE from another distribution of Caldera that came with a
book. It installed on /opt partition. I have found that there is so, so much
development going on with everything out there, that we just have to rely on
list servers such as this one. The funny thing, I am a Windows developer by
day and even with the version problems, they don't equal a binary compatibility
problem with dll's. At least with the Linux problem, someone can answer you
very quickly. In this case, I am not the one to answer your question today,
but I may answer one for you tomorrow.
Have faith, someone will answer your question. I wish that I had this level of
support with Windows NT! I have noticed that QT used to write the KDE GUI, is
quickly being replaced by the GTK libraries.
