BTW, pressing the extra keys makes the keyboard driver issue error
messages about unknown keys. The error messages contain the keycodes
that the keys actually generate. Very handy, since all you need to do
is to write a keymap file for these extra keys and enable them in the
usual way with the loadkeys utility. The real issue is how to then
tie them into an application to actually use them. (Eg, how to make
gtcd recognise the cd-keys, and X apps/window manager to recognise the
scroll and zoom keys, etc. Fiddling with Xresources might be a useful
exercise. I just wish I had some time to play with this myself...
