I tested NFS , FTP and HTTP install using
the original R 6.1 bootnet,
and the new bootnet-RHEA-1999-044.img boot image.

The server box is a Rh5.2 linux box.
I put online the RH 6.1 CD contents
via nfs, ftp , and http,

only HTTP install went successfully,

when trying the NFS install, at the point the installer tries to
mount the dir, it gives me an error: RPC unable to receive.
(is this a NFS version problem ? 2.0.x and 2.2.x NFS incompatibilities ?)

The NFS server is knows to work since I mounted the NFS dir
on a separate linux box successfully.

The FTP install fails too, but in this case
issuing a ps auxw|grep ftp on the server ,
it shows me that there is a RETR command ( RETR comps)
running but it is idle, no data transfer at all !
When I kill the ftp server process , the installer goes
to the next step but stalls on the first package
it tries to install.

Am I the only which is so unlucky at install via network,
or is this a known problem ?

note that my ftp server is wu-2.6.0(1)

any advice to solve this problem ?
( HTTTP works but I'd prefer NFS)

regards,
Benno
