yes I know this, but this should be done by the initscripts by
default,
or Joe average will never be able to connect his 2 PCs via PLIP.

One nice use of PLIP could be installing RH on a box which doesn't
have a CDROM or network card.
Just mount the CD from a 2nd Linux box and install via NFS using plip.
