I've found that when running emacs-nox, version 20.3-15, the help
texts (or "docstrings") for Emacs functions aren't correct. I usually
get only part of a doc string, and sometimes it's for the wrong
function. I've figured out that this is happening because emacs-nox
and emacs-X11 both use /usr/share/emacs/20.3/etc/DOC-20.3.1, but the
contents of that file aren't right for emacs-nox (because emacs-X11
apparently contains some functions and/or variables that don't exist
in emacs-nox).

So I'm going to make patches for Emacs (and the spec file for the
Emacs RPM) to create two doc files, one for emacs-X11 and one for
emacs-nox. I thinking about calling them either DOC-20.3.1 and
DOC-X-20.3.1 (the first being for the nox binary and the second being
for the X11 binary), or DOC-nox-20.3.1 and DOC-20.3.1. I'm undecided
about which naming scheme to use. Also, to avoid complicating the
file lists in the spec file, I'll probably put both files in the emacs
RPM.

Any comments or suggestions about this? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Matt Campbell
