Hi here!
Sorry if that topic already discussed.
I found a bug-report in bugzilla (status is NEW) about this.

Is it possible to include new kernels into /etc/lilo.conf
and create initrd? There is a big doc about how to install
new kernel on RedHat. But if kernel "registers itself" on
installation, things will be more easily.
The same is for deinstallation.
And with deinstall -- probably two more things.
May be good to remove initrd image; and /lib/modules-XXX/modules.deps
_before_ other files comed with kernel or make this file a
part of package. That things still on the hd after kernel package
was removed, and users should (if they want!) remove this
by hand.
As I can guess, all this is very simple. One note is that user
may have "non-standard" requirements for kernel images,
but such a user can easily do things by hand (for little example
consider --no-scsi for mkinitrd).

Regards,
  Michael.
