Subject: [RecipesAndMore] My house's a wreck.

My house's a wreck.

Oh what the heck.

There's no one here.

I'll have a beer.

My house's a wreck.

Oh what the heck.

There's no one here.

Not one soul near.

My TV's on.

My favorite song

On the radio.

No one will know.

My house's a wreck.

But what the heck.

Only I am here.

I have no fear.

May take a nap,

Or maybe a bath,

I just might play

Online all day.

You never know

How this could go

Relaxing free

With my TV.

My house's a wreck,

But what the heck.

No one is home.

I'm all alone.

My jammies on,

Munching bon bons,

My hair's not curled

I'm watching squirrels.

This is my pay,

My lazy day.

Enjoying rest

This is the best!

Don't think I'll budge

Or move a nudge

Less I need to pee,

Or want to eat.

The bed's not made.

The dust invades.

Can't move around

My laundry mound.

Windows need wiped,

Letters need typed,

Walls need paint,

Nah. Think I cain't.

The house's a wreck.

Aw, what the heck.

I'll sit around

Hey, what's that sound?

That was my cell.

What the hell?

"It's book club day?"

"You're on the way?"

My house's a wreck.

I strained my neck.

Running around

At the speed of sound.

Washing a dish then that

Oops. Stepped on the cat.

Clearing table and chairs,

Taking toys up the stairs

Dirt and clothes are everywhere.

Oh my gosh. Forgot my hair!

I'm not dressed.

Things still a mess.

Moments remain

To make things sane.

Get off my seat.

Good bye, retreat.

I hear the din,

Must let them in.

All of them dear,

And now they're here.

"My book club friends,

How have you been?"

Planning for this time

"Oh, yes. I've been fine."

Pour snacks into a dish

Thank God I had Chex Mix.

"Do sit right on down."

Glad the couch I found

My house was a wreck.

Pain in the neck.

Won't happen twice,

Won't roll the dice

My house was a wreck,

But what the heck.

This taught me fast.

Kick in the ass.

Save self the time.

Fight off the grime.

Keep dust and dirt at bay,

Unless it's lazy day.

You never know

When guests will call

Best be prepared.

Don't ever lull.

So if your place

Is wrecked like mine,

Enjoy yourself

'Til your cell chimes.

The dishes stray

On the table lay

But online

I think I'll play.
