AIRTIGHT MOLASSES COOKIES 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon baking soda 2/3 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup molasses 1 egg 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 cup raisins 1/2 cup chopped nuts Sift together the first 5 ingredients. In a large mixer bowl, combine shortening, sugar, molasses and egg. Beat together at medium speed for 2-3 minutes. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately and mix on low speed until well-blended. Fold in raisins and nuts. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 12 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Crowd Pleaser
