CHRISTMAS GUM DROP CAKE 2 lbs. gum drops, cut into sm. pieces 1 c. sugar 1 c. butter 2 eggs, well beaten 1 1/2 c. sweetened applesauce 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 lb. white raisins 1 1/2 c. nutmeats 1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 tsp. water 1 tsp. salt 4 c. flour Cream the butter, add sugar and mix. Add 2 cups flour, spices, eggs and soda. Sift 2 cups flour over gum drops and fruit and add to mixture. Bake 2 hours in a large pan, at 350 degrees.
