BIG FAT COOKIES 18.5 oz. pkg. yellow or devil's food cake mix 1/2 c. water 2 eggs 1 c. semi - sweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheet with shortening. Prepare the cake mix as directed on the package except reduce the water to 1/2 cup. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto the greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with 1 cup chocolate chips. Bake in 375 degree oven 6 to 8 minutes or until almost no impression remains when a cookie is touched lightly. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute, then lift the cookies to rack with pancake turner.. Variation: Gumdrop Cookies - follow recipe for Big Fat cookies except, in place of the chocolate chips, use 1 cup small gumdrops. Cut the gumdrops in half so they won't sink to the bottom and stick. Makes about 30 cookies.
