From old memory they were 3 wire start.

I’d recommend an Atkinson ags start unit.

Generac makes a 2-wire conversion kit, but it's for newer models than the one I'm stuck with unfortunately.

One Generac I worked on needed a module to convert to two wire start. Plus there was some programming.

Hello folks,

This Generac belongs to an old customer. He picked it up used. Runs good, but apparently was used w/ an ATS, which is no longer present.
No doc's, no labels to identify model.

But I have set up a remote start in a similar model 20+ years ago.w/o the ATS, just can't remember how. Terminals 23 & 194 connect to the ATS contactor coil to change state when it starts, I just can't remember the easy way to initiate the start command itself. There don't appear to be additional terminals for a dedicated start signal.

The red and black wires come from inverter AC to keep battery trickle charger energized, etc. I wonder if simulating loss of this AC, with genny control switch in auto mode, would initiate the run cycle.

In the meantime, any insights from my fellow old-timers (new ones welcome, too)? Thanks.
