When I do this I tend to use an A or B switch for high voltage solar and
then use a battery based with high voltage mppt or more commonly now, an
all in one battery/inverter/HV mppt. My clients mostly are technical and
can comprehend. I am lucky to have them!
The panel wiring to automate can be expensive to do. Go manual! And so
if the client is up for it technically and wants to keep cash in pocket,
the Florida hurricane tap is great. You can't do any of this with big
systems and non technical people.
Good Luck Man!

Is there a consensus as to what equipment to use for adding battery

I've had a few people ask and I actually haven't done it.
Thx
