I’m a fan of using Victron gear for all the tiny remote off grid systems I build for communication and security monitoring. You can’t go wrong with Victron in those cases.

Victron unit says it’s isolated and I’m sure that adds more expense. Also, it’s output is variable between 10 and 15V adjusting via the trim pot on the left. And states maximum input to 70Vdc.

The other unit does not say it’s isolated and has a fixed 12 V output and also says 48 V nominal and you don’t know how much higher than 48 V you can go.  Assume 60V?

If the budget is tight, by two of the $30 versions. ;-)

Thank you,

Maverick

Shopping for a 48 V to 12 V reducer, the price ranges are vast. Does anyone know why a Victorn 360 W reducer costs over $200 while a Homelylife 360 W reducer costs $30?

Is there some major advantage to using an expensive unit?
