Hello,
This system consists of -2- parallel Envy 12kw inverters and -2- evault 18.5kwh batteries. Grid tied w/about 13kw of pv on each inverter. Closed loop of course. I presently have the batteries set to charge off the grid when batteries fall to 90% SOC, stop charging when they rise to 95%. When I first commissioned the system, we noticed that whenever the grid switched to/from battery start or stop charging, lighting in the building would flicker momentarily AND the electronic t-stat for the furnace would power down and had to be reset manually. I found a parameter in the inverter called "seamless switch" and enabled it. This supposedly shortens the switch over between states from 200ms to 50ms. That was enough to keep the t-stat operational, but not all the lights from flickering. Oddly enough, the older 4ft fluorescent ballasted lighting stopped flickering, but the newer styles, a mix of compact fluorescent and LED, still flicker some. Any experience out there with something like this? Are there any other parameters I can alter to try and remedy this? I do have a support ticket to Fortress, and in the meantime, I'm lucky to present this issue to the vast expertise of this forum. PS I really wish Fortess would come up with a clearer explanation of what these setpoints do and how they interact. And consistency of labelling access across the apps. Amongst other things, some are not available remotely, like the "seamless switch". The remote app lays the settings out differently, and is not consistent in labelling similar functions between the app and the LCD setting page on the inverter. And as mentioned before, little to zero detail in the app documentation. -- *Kirk Herander / **kirkh@vermont.solar <kirkh@vermont.solar>* *Owner|Principal, VT Solar, LLC* *Celebrating our 33st Anniversary 1991-2024!!* dba Vermont Solar Engineering 802.559.1225
