Friends:
Like many of you I have a big investment in the use of Outback inverters and associated equipment. I have been unable to talk with tech support for months. When I call 360-435-6030 I am immediately shunted to voicemail and my messages go un-replied. I discovered another tech support number: 360-618-4363. I called that number which an automated attendant verified was Outback tech support. I was on hold for 1 hour Friday and no one ever picked up. I was not offered a chance to leave another useless message. A web search turns up various websites some listing the Texas address, some with the Bellingham address. One website had lots of future links. I had heard that Outback was purchased by Signature solar. I called them Friday and was directed to one Johnathan Gammil. Johnathon would not take my call and never called back. I was told to email him but the address I was given was not valid. I suspect the person I spoke to misspelled his name in the email address. The person I spoke to denied that Signature had purchased Outback. A while back I spoke to Zonna Energy and asked about Outback. I was assured that Outback was going to remain healthy. In a call to Zonna today I was told Outback was purchased by an owner of Signature, not by Signature itself. I was told that the purchase of the company did not include the ETL listings and the listing tests needed to be redone and that is scheduled for November. While it may be true that Outback will come back as a valid brand, the mismanagement and poor communication about the transition does not bode well. William PS: I also was told Magnum might be acquired and resurrected. Miller Solar 17395 Oak Road, Atascadero, CA 93422 805-438-5600 www.millersolar.com CA Lic. 773985
