Good advice from Tump, please use it! The main issue is we need to feed
back to Schneider that XWP should work out of the box for Offgrid.
This is how all of the previous models did. The California and Hawaii
rules for grid have taken over. When I beta tested XWP for offgrid
it was offgrid friendly. The firmware updates changed how XWP behaves
for offgrid, in some modes.
I have always thought they should build a model that leaves out all of
the firmware for the grid and is just purely an Offgrid model.
They taught being born offgrid and it is pretty bulletproof once
configured. You can see that it mostly is fine offgrid Greg but that
could change.
Please tell them to consider making the default IEEE and thank them for
keeping the SCP alive.
Your 4 X XWP system is much easier/faster to install now with the new
200 amp panel Schneider makes for big systems.
Firmware being ready very soon for offgrid and it works fine now with
the grid.

Greg its a pain, i agree, a few things I have done to help me w/
Schnieder's love of passwords.
In my phone, my personal "Insight Cloud" log in info, and the password
for the client's system on location Insight, so that site is accessible
to you. I will also take a picture & file the info, MAC address etc. on
the back of your client's insight to my phone under that clients
contact info. This way tech support can get access if there is an
issue.
Under Schnieder call center & their #; I put the password for "Grid
Code" access.
PW is; XWproGridCodes Off grid setting is 1547-2003
IF you visit the site you should upgrade the firmware on BOTH the
"Insight & XWP". This will be the first question Tech support will ask
you for. Make sure that IF you are doing a FW upgrade DO IT Locally AND
use bypass & manually start the Generator. IF you don't, as the XWP is
updating the FW it will turn off power to your insight and then it
really can be interesting.
Once again grid codes have to be reset, IF you will be resetting the
inverters to "factory defaults" select RESET ALL.
Once things are up & running you are able to view each individual
component as well as an overview. Remote access thru the Cloud there
is a time limit on accessibility, & there is a time delay on settings
except on the "live" mode.
Yeah I bring 2 computers so I can look at the manual and use the other
for insight access.
I still have issues probably I am using a older computer and my skills
using a computer are quite limited. I have asked Schnieder for an
option to purchase the XWP manual but that apparently fell on deaf
ears.
There is I believe a time limit for the warrantee registration i think
60 days so be aware of that too.
I think there is a demo mode on the Insight that one can play with &
tech support is usually quite helpful. Unfortunately Schnieder believes
that their systems will be installed where internet and phone service
is available. NOT SO

Dave, thanks for the info. I did read the manual and saw the reference
to the IEE Region. Since the PW wasn't important enough for Schneider
to put in the installation manual, and the Model is listed XW Pro 6848
NA (north america?) I figured we were in the right Region and moved on.
Any idea what the IEE Region code affects?
I'm also looking for answers to connecting to the modbus registers and
being able to pull data from all the devices on the network. I will
ping Schneider Tech support again. Any info I get I will share with
the list.
I have to say that since these XW pros have been installed a week ago
they've performed flawlessly. Hoping for many years of good
performance for this very patient customer!
All the best,

It is pretty well laid out on the website for 3 + years that you need
to use Insight.
You should also read the installer info.
https://solar.se.com/us/en/2021/06/29/essential-advanced-resources-for-installers/
SCP will work for some basic functions but is out of memory for XWP.
Use for indication only.
I am guessing that you did not program XWP to set the IEE region code
as above in the installers manual? This is probably causing some extra
issues for you.
You do need the password and I can send it if you do not have it?
Good Luck.
