We've sacrificed a small-medium ice chest to be the battery box for our tool batteries.  affixed to the side  of the ice chest is a small 7 watt  reptile heat pad with the cord sneaking out the lid and plugged in overnight.  You don't want the pad on the bottom it'll actually get the battery setting on it too warm.

At the job as we need them, them come out warm and by the time they are discharged the temp has come up to above freezing for charging, or put it back in the ice chest.  If its not plugged-in in the truck, don't forget to load the battery ice chest before the morning launch to work.

Hey All,

For those of us that live & work in freezing winter temps – What is the overall effect on LI tool batteries stored in a frozen truck overnight, needs to be used or charged & the battery is -15˚ to 32˚F?

I assume it’s the same as stationary LI batteries, though I have never seen a warning on the battery package or in the tool literature.

What are you all doing with work tool batteries in freezing  temps?

Are you taking the batteries inside to be warm & charge at night?

Thanks in advance!
