Wrenches, I’m looking for some advice on current small wind turbine options. I have a long time off-grid PV customer who also has a 20-year-old Whisper 200 turbine on a 75' tower. The turbine has been out of commission for some years due to failed bearings and now my customer wants to replace it. I’m struggling to find an appropriately sized replacement for him that isn’t some no-name piece of import junk— but I’m also not a wind expert and I haven’t kept up with the changes in the field over the last few years. Some web searching seems to reveal that several former big name manufacturers are now out of business and the options are few.
