Wrenches,

We have a couple of resi clients that want us to provide whole house transfer
(200A) PV systems with zero export to grid (utility doesn’t offer net metering
so it makes no sense to sell to grid), LiFePO batt's, and 10kVA+ gensets.

We did this a couple of years ago with a Schneider XW+ system with LA batt’s
and a Brigg’s/Symphony X-fer (that had to be field reconfigured for AGS due to
lack of 2 wire start), but it was not exactly a straightforward install and the
system owner has never really mastered the operation of the system. I would
really like to have closed loop comm’s between LiFePO batt’s and the
inverter/charger. I’ve seen a number of references to SolArk on here, but I’ve
also seen references to those inverters not being able to run motor loads
(which seems REALLY ODD is this true?).

These homes both have 1 or 2 - 5 Ton heat pumps, Fridge’s and Freezers plus all
other regular house loads that they do not want to leave off in the event of a
grid failure (somewhat frequent). My preference would be to use LA batt’s, but
these customers are asking strongly for LiFePO.

So, I’m reaching out to you guys to find out if you’ve come up against this use
case to see what equipment you’re using? And before anyone suggests critical
loads panels - these people do not want that. I know...

Best Regards,
