Another shout out for  the Trimetric folks.  They revised the manuals recently as well, nice job.

Lou,
I spoke this morning with Kedar, who purchased Bogart Engineering several years ago, about an out-of-warranty repair on a TM-2030 (Stupid human trick - after installing maybe 100 TriMetrics over 30 years I wired a new one backwards). Remembering your post I asked him about settings for lithium batteries in general. I have done this successfully with several Blue Ion LFP battery replacement installations.
His recommendations:
- set voltage to the BMS voltage regulation setpoint (55.2 for Blue Ion)
- set amps either Off or to a high (5-10%) to disable this parameter
- Set CEF to 98-99%
- set battery AH capacity to actual rated capacity @100% DoD

I checked records for a couple of my own 2018 installations (Both of these had existing TM-2020s rather than TM-2030s, which shouldn't make any difference in their settings and operation.):
- I set voltage a bit lower - 54.0 and 54.5
- I set amps off in one case and 8A in the other
- I set a large (24 kWhr) CEF to 98% and a smaller (8 kWhr) set to 95%
And both have continued to supply accurate and usable info to the client.

By the way, I was initially disappointed to learn that Ralph Hiesey had sold his business and retired. I have recently, however, received excellent customer support from Kedar, the owner of Bogart Engineering, and wanted to pass that good review along.

Aloha All,
Does anyone have experience with the TM-2030's SOC accuracy when used with LFP batteries that they are willing to share? I would think the TM-2030 would be accurate but I just want some confirmation.
Thanks.
