Solving the problem of having Wifi available and needing ethernet (LAN) ports is easy and cheap. You can get a device like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VVHONRM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are many examples. These extenders/access points/routers give typically give you LAN ports to use. I try to keep something like this on the truck. You can also use ethernet over power, to move signals fairly far through power lines. Sometimes the bigger hassle is to supply the power outlet near where you need the Ethernet port. Its definitely nice to have them built in, as is getting more common.
