Hi All,
I am looking for a good choice for a meter that I can use for the following
circumstances:

   - Legacy Off-grid and Battery Backup systems that don't have very useful
on board metering in order to get an accurate reading of loads, generation
(solar, wind, generator, etc.), power in from and out to the grid
   - Potential new battery based installs where the above info is not
   easily ascertainable
   - Troubleshooting systems where there are apparent discrepancies between
   client expectations/understanding and actual circumstances
   - Metering of both AC and DC loads and generation
   - Metering capable of Internet connection for remote monitoring and data
   collection
   - Potential for leaving in/selling to client if they are interested in
   the info long term

My goto meter in the past has been the Trimetric, but that doesn't give me
enough data for real troubleshooting and data collection. I have for years
run into circumstances where this information gathered over a period of
time would be incredibly useful. Being able to see info remotely and
looking at history would be even more useful. Having started using Blue
Ion batteries that have incorporated an eGauge in their system, I have
become familiar with some of the eGauge capabilities. I can see how having
one on my service truck with multiple AC and DC CTs that I can leave on
site for a period time would often be very useful, although a bit
complicated to set up for short term analysis. I also don't know that it
has a local display for those not computer savvy. And it is a bit pricey
for simple systems that I'd could potentially sell to the client once they
get an idea of how helpful it could be.

What have folks used with what degree of success? I'm open to all
suggestions and ideas/critiques.
Thanks,
Howie
