Hi Rebekah & Dave,
That looks like a good meter; I think it should work fine.
We are diagnosing a Stirling generator, that
consumes wood pellets and produces electricity,
heat and biochar. http://stirling-tech.com/biogen/
The machine connects to the grid or an inverter via AC coupling.
It is currently AC coupled to an Outback VFX 3648
through an autotransformer to produce 240 V. All
works well for up to 8 hours, and then it shuts
down on a high voltage error. High voltage for it
is around 264 V, and we have never seen the
voltage reach that range. The plan is to put a
recording volt meter on and see if line voltage
does spike when the generator shuts down.
Thanks,
Drake

The Hioki meter amazes me. It can measure up to
1500VDC, and bluetooth communications to a
really simple to use phone app that records
single or multiple channels up to 24 hrs, and
exports to pdf, it's totally intuitive to use.Â
See pg 34 in the manual.Â

Hello Wrenches,
Does anyone know of a source for a reliable, yet
inexpensive recording volt meter?
Thank you,
