We've welded a flanged plate to the bottom of the pole and then set epoxy anchor bolts into the rock.  Another option we've tried is drill a 8" hole into the rock to get the base of the pole a foot down into the rock and then poured a reinforced block of concrete on top of the rock.  smaller holes were drilled into the surrounding rock to attach the concrete to the rock as well.

Ballasted systems could be an option, as well as low profile racking with multiple anchor points.  Not fun but it can be done.

Hi all,

I have a customer that requires a mounting option I have yet to encounter.  His site sits on top of of a massive hill of granite.  It is relatively flat.  Are there any mounting options that could work here?  We are only talking about (12) to (16) modules for an off grid array.  Is there anything that can bolt to rock?  I typically use dpw or Mt solar pole mounts but can't imagine how these options could work.  Any thoughts?
