Wrenches
I have a question that I do not have an answer for that I can prove, here
it is, I have 25 ABB 20 k. three phase inverters on a .5 meg ground mount
site , I have also seen this on systems with SMA tripower and Fronius 8.2
and trio inverters on roof mounted systems, intermittently one combiner
will blow a fuse and 9 times out of 10 it will be a negative fuse. PPA
holders or CFO's of these systems would like to know why and other than a
wake up surge or shade issue which could effect the negative side but
that's really a stretch to say for sure. We have sites located in dry and
wet locations around the islands, we have different brands of inverters but
the fuses are what the inverter manufacture included in their
combiner/switches. I am proposing to only use a slow blow fuse in the
future with all of our new systems regardless of what is included in the
combiners but with hundreds of fuses out there its a tough call to replace
as they fail or just for it and change them all in advance per site. I Look
forward to your thoughts and ideas, maybe its something else altogether.
