Wrenches, We have recently had a string of Solectria 3.8 failures. The commonality to the failures seems to be a failed internal relay on the top part of the inverter and we (and one customer) have witnessed brief arcing occur as the inverter attempts to start up. In every instance we have seen a tripped AC breaker.
I had a positive conversation with Solectria about this problem and they tell me they have not seen this problem frequently and do not believe the error is systemic. That said, our failure rate is very high and our sample size is very small. I am curious if any folks installing Solectria 3.8s have seen this error or had a high failure rate as of late.
