Hello Drake,

Based on the Morningstar PWM 45 manual, there is Not a specific amount of time that the controller will spend in the Absorb mode(unlike most C.C. where there is, typically a couple to a few hours by default).
Basically it decides when to drop out of Absorb based on several(?) parameters the biggest of which I would think being the PWM percentage(getting close to zero%).

You should be able to view the LED status;blinks at every 1/2 second indicates at Bulk;slow blinks at every 1 second indicates Float.

The manual does talk about "Custom" programing using PC software;perhaps this would be a method to get a specific amount of time in the Absorb mode?

Again, this is based on the manual;would like to try out their new one that does MPPT(I think?).
Hope this helps.

Hello Wrenches,

I have a Morningstar PWM 45 that doesn't drop out of absorb. It is set with dip switches to absorb at 29.2 V and stays constant around 29.1. It has stayed at 29.1 for several hours straight, and goes right back to that voltage in the morning. Tech support says the controller is working correctly. Have any of you seen this, or conversely have you seen the Morningstar drop into float after a reasonable amount of time?

Thanks,

Drake
