We recently did a slate roof. We used the Unirac standoff posts and Oatey flashings. We had the roofer who installed the slate put the posts in. He also left his staging up for us to work on. This is the only slate roof we’ve ever done because the cost of the roofer usually makes the job too expensive.
I wouldn’t install the mounts in house because slate is so difficult to work with. You also can’t walk on it or it cracks.
