Hey Folks,

Having just brought another 2 tons of lead to a Caribbean island that has no lead recycling capacity (nor orientation to ship them off once they are kaput) I'm really wanting to offer Lithium on the next job.

Where do we stand in terms of inverters and BMS -  off-the-shelf that we can offer?  The Radian manual says the charge cycle can be configured to Li but when will we see an integrated and optimized inverter/charger with individual cell BMS ?

SMA?  Outback?  Magnum?  Schneider?

Let the race begin!

Thanks,

Jeff

$360/kWh is a good price. Can you share the brand with us or email me off list? We sell Li-ion (LFMP) at our store but I include a CPU, protection solenoids, battery capacity meter and video display. My dealer cost is quite a bit higher than you were quoted.

Just curious if fellow wrenches are looking at Li-on batteries. We were just
quoted a 50KWHR at 48 volt battery pack with enclosure and BMS for $ 360.00
per KWHR or $0.36 per watt hour.

Marco,

This year I began designing and installing Lithium battery banks, specifically LFMP type Li-ion's. The performance benefits and cost per cycle makes it the battery technology I recommend first for all mobile and most off grid systems.

GBS has test discharged their LFMP battery to 100% DoD @ 0.5C rate and made more than 2000 cycles with 80% rated capacity remaining at end of test. Contact me off list if you want to discuss more.

Thank you,

Amigos y amigas,

I’m trying to put together a battery storage design that 1) will be between 20-30 kWhs, 2) with batteries that are sealed, 3) that can do thousands (as in 3,000+ if possible) of charge-discharge cycles and 4) can be discharged to more or less zero percent state of charge.

Any bright, let alone practical, cost-effective battery type ideas out there for such a design?  Am I dreaming?

Thank you,
marco
