Well, just to be fair, many Chinese Co.s are propped up by the Chinese
gov't...favorable tax structures, free land, zero interest loans. Solarworld
seems to be somewhat of a target for failing US manufacturers, however let's
not forget the others here that have failed or may soon thanks to installers
not willing to hang in there for domestic manufacturers. I actually take a
small hit on my mark-up and try my best to sell the virtues of keeping jobs
here, producing PVs with less environmental impact and keeping dollars in the
US, to my customers. Any wonder where all that $$ comes from that is propping
up the US debt.

As a side note, SW replaced an entire array (residential) I could not
pinpoint a reduction in output in after troubleshooting for a couple days.
Rather remarkable in itself, the real story though is they were Siemens PVs.
THAT is a warranty....they even paid the freight.

I've been in this biz for about 20 years and am competing with a couple
new local start-ups and the likes of Solar Universe and Solar City.... selling
USA made PVs.

Solarworld is now propped up by Middle East investors (Quatar) or so I've
been told.

Solar world is backed by a very large German company and is investigating
expanding the manufacturing foot print they have, have you been to the factory,
If not you need to go, in some cases you can take your customer too. They sell
low output cells that they will not use to other manufactures. You never know
with manufactures look at Sharp, I prefer US over SEA

Thanks for the input, folks. My client is very concerned about warranty
