You want to be careful when paralleling a Charge Controller and a Pump on a PV array. The Charge controller and pump can do interesting things to each other. I would suggest if doing this you either use blocking diodes on the pump and Charge Controller or you use a NO / NC relay and let the pump or Charge controller pick the appropriate position for he relay.

so it might be possible to power the pump array direct and also charge batteries through a hv mppt charge controller at the same time??

ok wrenches... here is a hair brained idea i came up with.

i have this customer with the grundfos pump being powered, array
direct by 10 astropower 75's in series... so around 170 vdc.

what would happen if a hv mppt charge controller were paralleled
with the panel output feeding the pump?

would the cu200 & charge controller mppt algorithms fight each other?

    thanks,

    todd
